This book contains the best examples of photographs of ships and shipbuilding at the Harland and Wolff shipyards in Belfast, 1894-1912.
The work of the prominent photographer, Robert John Welch, they cover the whole range of shipbuilding stages from keel laying to fitting out the passenger accommodation.
A wide variety of ships are included from the famous Titanic and Olympic to smaller, less well known craft.
The book also contains a full list of the Harland and Wolff photographic collection, 1894-1912, now housed at the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum.
