75 Years of Legend / A Modern Legend

This is the history of The Titanic from the construction, birthing to her sinking with numerous photographs of her and her sister ship The Olympic. Additional photographs of the sinking, survivors and the inquiry are also included.

Seventy five years ago the largest liner in the world set sail from Southampton on her maiden voyage. Five days later she lay on the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean, a wreck of giant proportion representing the wreck of man's faith in his own achievements. This short book hopes to stimulate further investigation into her story and also put the liner into her historical perspective: she was not unique, she was one of a pair, but the extra care that went into her and the fate that befell her has made her a legend. A Titanic legend.
