The book was first published in November 1992 and reprinted in 1994. It was reissued in an updated and expanded second edition following Dr. Robert D. Ballard's expedition to the wreck of the "Britannic" in 1995. Dr. Robert D. Ballard was the man who found the "Titanic" in 1985 and the German battleship "Bismarck" in 1989. The author, Simon Mills, was one of the advisers to Dr. Robert D. Ballard during this expedition and has since become the owner of the wreck itself. Contains appendices and 85 illustrations.
